Anne-Laure Misme presented her new installation thirty-one-point-ten in collaboration with Jennifer McColl and sound artist Sandy Finlayson. thirty-one-point-ten is a gathering of numerous components drawn from visuals, sounds, movements, and text woven into multi-compositional mosaic layers exploring fragmentation and presented through the triangular relationship of the 2D and 3D objects. The interdisciplinary layering of the piece offers the possibility for audiences to approach and sense the performance from different perspectives. The 2D and 3D objects are mixed together in order to create an immersive environment where rhythm, patterns and a minimalistic approach have been explored as a way of working and making the piece, thus offering to the audience the possibility to experience the art, the object, and the space. The installation works in a 14- minute loop during which the text repeats frequently thus creating no beginning nor end and while the videos alter perspective ever so slightly every 4 minutes. The artwork has just been presented at the Artaud Centre for Performance for the Masters in Contemporary Performance Making at Brunel. This version was the first work-in-progress, and Anne-Laure Misme and her collaborators are working in version 2.
